Calories Burned Calculator

This calories burned calculator estimates the energy you expend during various physical activities. Enter your body weight, the type of exercise, and the duration to find out how many calories you burned.

How we calculate calories burned

Calories = MET × body weight (kg) × time (hours). MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) is a multiple of resting metabolic rate. Running: 8.3, cycling: 6.8, swimming: 7.0, walking: 3.5, aerobics: 6.0, gym: 5.0, yoga: 2.5, football: 7.0.

Example calories burned calculation

A person weighing 70 kg runs for 45 minutes. MET for running: 8.3. Calories = 8.3 × 70 × (45/60) = 434 kcal. Cycling for 60 min: MET 6.8. Calories = 6.8 × 70 × 1 = 476 kcal.
