Calculate your annual fuel bill, cost per 100 km and total fuel consumption in litres. Enter the annual distance, fuel consumption rate, current fuel price and fuel type. Useful for budgeting transport costs, comparing vehicles and calculating business travel reimbursements.
Fuel consumed (l) = distance (km) ÷ 100 × consumption (l/100km) Annual cost = fuel consumed (l) × fuel price (PLN/l) Cost per 100 km = consumption (l/100km) × fuel price (PLN/l) Cost per km = cost per 100 km ÷ 100
Annual mileage: 15,000 km. Consumption: 7 l/100km. Petrol price: PLN 6.20/l. Fuel used: 15,000 ÷ 100 × 7 = 1,050 l/year. Annual fuel cost: 1,050 × 6.20 = PLN 6,510. Cost per 100 km: 7 × 6.20 = PLN 43.40. Cost per km: PLN 0.434.
Annual fuel cost = (annual distance km ÷ 100) × consumption (l/100km) × fuel price (PLN/l). Example: 15,000 km, 7 l/100km, PLN 6.20/l → 1,050 l used → PLN 6,510/year.
Cost per 100 km = consumption (l/100km) × fuel price (PLN/l). For a car using 7 l/100km at PLN 6.20/l: 7 × 6.20 = PLN 43.40 per 100 km.
Average consumption: petrol 6–10 l/100km, diesel 5–8 l/100km, LPG 8–12 l/100km, hybrid 4–7 l/100km. Actual consumption depends on driving style, road conditions, air conditioning and load. City driving is 30–50% more expensive than motorway driving.
In 2026 LPG is about PLN 3.00–3.50/l vs. petrol PLN 6.00–6.50/l. However LPG engines consume about 20–30% more fuel by volume. Cost per 100 km: LPG at 9 l/100km × PLN 3.20 = PLN 28.80; petrol at 7 l/100km × PLN 6.20 = PLN 43.40. LPG is about 30–35% cheaper.
Cost per km = consumption (l/100km) × fuel price (PLN/l) ÷ 100. For 7 l/100km at PLN 6.20/l: 7 × 6.20 ÷ 100 = PLN 0.434/km. This metric is needed for business travel expense reimbursement.
A plug-in hybrid typically uses 4.5–6 l/100km. For 15,000 km/year at 5 l/100km and PLN 6.20/l: 750 l used, annual cost PLN 4,650 — about PLN 1,860 less than a 7 l/100km petrol car. Savings grow with higher annual mileage.
Aggressive driving with frequent acceleration and braking can increase fuel use by 20–40% above the manufacturer's figure. Eco-driving techniques (smooth acceleration, anticipating traffic, steady speed) can reduce consumption by 10–25%. Motorway driving at 130 km/h uses 30–50% more fuel than at the optimal 80–90 km/h.
A PLN 1/l price increase for a car covering 15,000 km/year at 7 l/100km adds PLN 1,050/year (1,050 l × PLN 1). Using fuel price comparison apps can save PLN 200–500 per year.
An LPG installation costs PLN 2,500–5,000. Monthly saving at 15,000 km/year: approx. PLN 180 (petrol PLN 6.20/l vs. LPG PLN 3.20/l, consumption petrol 7 l / LPG 9 l). Payback period: about 14–28 months. Worthwhile for annual mileage above 12,000–15,000 km and at least 3–4 years of use.
Fill-to-fill method: fill the tank, record the odometer, drive normally, fill up again. Consumption = fuel added (l) ÷ km driven × 100. The on-board computer may understate consumption by 5–15% versus the fill-to-fill method. The calculator uses the value you enter.
