Plumbing installation cost calculator 2026

Planning a renovation or new build and want to know how much to budget for plumbing? This calculator estimates the cost of water supply and sewage pipe installation based on floor area, building type and quality standard. Base rates per m² in 2026: basic standard PLN 200/m², standard PLN 280/m², premium PLN 400/m². Rates are adjusted by a building type factor: flat 1.0, multi-family house 1.05, single-family house 1.10. Results include: water supply installation cost (45% of total), sewage installation cost (55% of total) and total cost. Budget with a 10–15% reserve for unexpected work.

How the plumbing cost calculator works

Formula: 1. Base price per m²: - Basic: PLN 200/m² - Standard: PLN 280/m² - Premium: PLN 400/m² 2. Building type factor: - Flat: 1.00 - Multi-family house: 1.05 - Single-family house: 1.10 3. Price per m² = base_price × building_factor 4. Total cost = area_m2 × price_per_m2 5. Water supply = total_cost × 0.45 6. Sewage = total_cost × 0.55

Example: flat 80 m², standard quality

Flat 80 m², standard quality: cost_per_m2 = 280 × 1.0 = PLN 280/m². Total cost = 80 × 280 = PLN 22,400. Water supply = PLN 22,400 × 0.45 = PLN 10,080. Sewage = PLN 22,400 × 0.55 = PLN 12,320.

Frequently asked questions about plumbing installation costs

How much does plumbing installation cost in Poland in 2026?

Plumbing installation in a flat costs between PLN 200 and PLN 400/m² depending on quality. Basic standard is about PLN 200/m², standard PLN 280/m², and premium with better materials PLN 400/m².

Why is plumbing in a single-family house more expensive than in a flat?

A single-family house requires longer pipe runs and often an external connection — hence a factor of 1.10 (10% more than a flat). A multi-family house is 5% more expensive (factor 1.05) due to shared risers.

What is included in water supply vs sewage installation?

Water supply (about 45% of cost) covers cold and hot water pipes. Sewage (about 55%) includes waste pipes, risers and connections. Sewage costs more due to larger pipe diameters and gradient requirements.

Premium standard (PLN 400/m²) includes multilayer or copper pipes, thermostatic valves, isolation valves at each fixture and thermal insulation on hot water pipes. Recommended for new builds or full renovations.

Yes, the calculator gives the total cost including materials and labour. Typical split: 40–50% materials, 50–60% labour. For standard quality at 80 m² the total is about PLN 22,400.

For an 80 m² flat: basic standard 3–5 working days, standard 5–8 days, premium 7–12 days. In a single-family house add 20–30% more time.

Replacing internal pipework inside a flat does not require a permit. A new connection to the municipal network requires approval from the network operator and may require a works notification.

Check references, ask for a cost breakdown of materials and labour, sign a contract with scope, schedule and warranty (min. 2 years). Avoid paying the full amount upfront.

Common mistakes: undersized pipes (low pressure), missing isolation valves, incorrect drain gradients, no thermal insulation on hot pipes, cheap fittings. Always use materials complying with PN-EN standards.

Save by buying materials from plumbing wholesalers (10–20% cheaper) and combining plumbing with other installations. Do not cut costs on pipe quality, fittings or a certified plumber for new connections.

Calculator results are indicative and based on average 2026 market prices in Poland. Actual costs depend on location, number of water points, building condition and individual plumber quotes. Always collect at least 3 quotes before making a decision.
