How we calculate panels

Number of packs = room area / m² per pack. We add a 10% margin for cuts.

Example: room 15 m², pack 2.16 m²

15 / 2.16 = 6.94 → 7 packs + 10% margin = 8 packs.

Frequently asked questions

How many packs do I need for my room?

Divide the room area by the square metres in one pack, then round up. Add a 10% margin for cuts and the final number is your order.

Why add a 10% margin?

Cuts at walls, doorways and around pipes create waste. A 10% margin covers offcuts and a few spare boards for future repairs.

Does the laying direction affect quantity?

Diagonal or herringbone layouts produce more offcuts, so they may need a 15% margin instead of the usual 10%.

It varies by product, commonly around 2–2.5 m². Always check the figure printed on the pack before ordering.

Yes. Keep at least one board so you can replace a damaged plank later, as batch colours can differ over time.

Most laminate and vinyl floors need an underlay. Calculate it for the same room area separately from the panels.

The result is for guidance only. Order with a minimum 10% margin.
