How we calculate styrofoam

Quantity = wall area / m2 per pack. We add a 5-10% margin for cut-offs and windows.

Needed: 80 m2 of EPS styrofoam 15 cm. Pack 6 m2 = 14 packs + 5% spare.

How is the number of packs calculated?

Divide the wall area by the square metres in one pack, then add 5-10% spare for cut-offs.

What thickness of styrofoam should I choose?

For walls 15 cm is typical, for roofs and foundations often 20 cm. Confirm with your contractor.

Why add a margin?

Cut-offs around windows, corners and openings cause waste, so a 5-10% spare is recommended.

How many m2 are in one pack?

It depends on thickness; a 15 cm EPS pack usually covers about 6 m2. Check the label.

Does this include glue and mesh?

No. The calculator estimates the styrofoam quantity only, not adhesive or reinforcing mesh.

Is the result binding?

No, it is indicative. Final quantities depend on the surface and the contractor.
