Cocktail ABV Calculator
Calculate the alcohol content (ABV%), amount of pure alcohol and number of standard drinks in a home cocktail. Educational tool only.
The perfect cup of tea requires the right proportions of tea leaves, water temperature and steeping time. This calculator adjusts all parameters to your chosen tea type and number of cups.
Select the tea type (black, green, white or herbal) and enter the number of cups. The calculator returns the amount of tea in grams, recommended water temperature and steeping time.
For 2 cups of black tea you need 5 g of leaves, water at 95 degrees C and a steeping time of 3-5 minutes. Green tea for one cup requires 2 g of leaves and water at 75 degrees C.
Boiling water (100 degrees C) damages the delicate catechins in green tea and makes it taste bitter. The ideal temperature of 75 degrees C extracts the flavour gently without bitterness.
The calculator uses 250 ml as one cup, which is the standard European tea cup. Adjust the number of cups if your vessel is larger or smaller.
Yes, especially with quality loose-leaf green, white and oolong teas. Each subsequent steep may be slightly longer. Black and herbal teas are typically only steeped once.
Yes. Fresh, filtered or spring water produces the best results. Avoid heavily chlorinated tap water or water that has been boiling for a long time.
Over-steeping releases excess tannins, making the tea taste bitter and astringent. Stick to the recommended steeping time, especially for green and white teas.
Loose-leaf tea generally has better flavour and quality as the leaves have more room to expand. Tea bags contain smaller broken leaves that brew quickly but with less complexity.
The calculator uses 2.5 g for black tea, 2 g for green and herbal, and 1.5 g for white tea per cup. Different tea types have different densities, so weigh by grams for precision.
Yes. Warming the teapot or cup with hot water before adding tea helps maintain the optimal brewing temperature throughout steeping.
Traditionally no, but there are no strict rules. Milk is most commonly added to black tea. Adding milk to green or white tea may reduce some of the antioxidant benefits.
Brewed tea is best consumed within 1-2 hours. After that it loses freshness and flavour. Refrigerated brewed tea can be kept up to 24 hours for iced tea.
Brewing parameters are general recommendations. Adjust time and amount of tea to your personal taste preferences.
