Calculate car trip costs: fuel, motorway tolls, parking. Travel cost calculator for Poland 2026.
Planning a trip and wondering whether to drive, fly or take the train? This calculator compares the real cost of all three options for your distance and number of passengers, factoring in fuel, road tolls, and flight and train ticket prices. The result shows which option is cheapest and how much you could save.
Car: fuel cost (distance × 2 × consumption/100 × fuel price) + tolls — this is the total cost of the trip, split among passengers. Plane and train: one-way ticket price × 2 (round trip) × number of passengers, since each passenger pays for their own ticket.
A 500 km one-way trip, 2 people, car fuel consumption 7 L/100km, fuel PLN 6.50/L, tolls PLN 60: car cost = (1000 × 0.07 × 6.50) + 60 = PLN 515 (PLN 257.50/person). Plane ticket PLN 250/person round trip = PLN 1,000. Train ticket PLN 120/person round trip = PLN 480. Cheapest option: train, savings vs plane = PLN 520.
Results are estimates. Travel time, car depreciation, baggage fees and ticket price fluctuations are not included.
