Fuel Consumption Calculator
Calculate fuel consumption per 100 km, trip cost, and cost per kilometre. Enter distance, litres used or known consumption, and the current fuel price.
The oil change calculator helps you determine how many kilometres remain until the next change and how much it costs. Enter the current mileage, last-change mileage, interval and oil and filter parameters — the calculator returns the change cost and an indicative annual cost at 15,000 km/year.
Remaining mileage: Remaining = interval − (current mileage − last-change mileage) Change cost: Oil = capacity (l) × price per litre Cost = oil + filter + labour (PLN 80) Annual cost: Changes = 15,000 km ÷ interval Annual cost = change cost × changes
10,000 km driven since the last change, 15,000 km interval → 5,000 km remaining. Cost: oil 4.5 l × PLN 45 = PLN 202.50, filter PLN 40, labour PLN 80 = PLN 322.50. At 15,000 km/year and a 15,000 km interval that is 1 change per year = PLN 322.50/year.
A typical oil change interval for passenger cars is 15,000 km or once a year (whichever comes first). For city driving, short trips, heavily used turbo engines or LPG, shortening the interval to 10,000 km is recommended. Always check the manufacturer recommendations in the service book.
Indicative oil change cost in Poland (2026): engine oil 4–5 litres at approx. PLN 40–60/litre = PLN 180–300, oil filter PLN 30–60, workshop labour approx. PLN 80–150. In total an oil change usually costs PLN 300–450. A DIY change reduces the cost to the price of oil and filter.
The calculator multiplies the oil capacity (litres) by the price per litre, adds the filter price and labour cost (assumed PLN 80). The remaining mileage to the change is the interval minus the kilometres driven since the last change. The annual cost assumes 15,000 km per year and converts it into the number of changes.
High-quality synthetic oil (PLN 50–70/litre) protects the engine better, keeps its parameters longer and suits modern turbocharged units with diesel particulate filters (DPF). Cheaper semi-synthetic oil (PLN 30–45/litre) is enough for older naturally aspirated engines. Saving on oil should not cost engine durability.
Yes. LPG-powered engines run at higher temperatures, which accelerates oil degradation. Shortening the interval to 10,000–12,000 km and using oil designed for gas installations is recommended. Regular oil changes with LPG protect the valve seats from excessive wear.
Worn oil loses its lubricating properties, increasing friction and operating temperature. Consequences include accelerated bearing wear, clogged oil channels, turbocharger damage and, in extreme cases, engine seizure. The repair cost greatly exceeds the price of a regular oil change.
The oil system capacity depends on the engine: small petrol units (1.0–1.4) need approx. 3–4 litres, popular 1.6–2.0 engines approx. 4–5 litres, larger diesels and petrols approx. 5–7 litres. The exact capacity is given in the vehicle manual — keep a small reserve of oil for top-ups.
Yes, the oil filter should be replaced at every oil change. The old filter accumulates contaminants and metal shavings, and leaving it reduces the lubrication effectiveness of the new oil. The filter cost (PLN 30–60) is negligible compared to the benefits for engine durability.
Yes, a DIY oil change is possible with basic tools (drain plug wrench, filter wrench, funnel, waste oil pan). It saves on labour. Remember to dispose of waste oil at a collection point — pouring oil into the environment is prohibited and punishable.
The calculator gives indicative costs based on average market prices in Poland 2026 and an assumed labour cost of PLN 80. Actual oil, filter and service prices differ between workshops and vehicle brands. Treat the result as guidance for planning a service budget, not as a binding quote.
Results are indicative and based on average market prices in Poland 2026 and an assumed labour cost of PLN 80. Actual prices and intervals depend on the workshop and the vehicle manufacturer recommendations.
