The tip calculator helps you quickly work out how much to leave for the service staff and how to split the bill among guests. Enter the bill amount, select a tip percentage and the number of people — the calculator instantly shows the tip amount, the total to pay and each person's share. In Poland tipping is not mandatory, but 10–15% is considered polite for good service. At upmarket restaurants 15–20% is the norm. When paying by card, check whether the terminal supports adding a tip directly or have some cash ready.
Tip amount = bill × tip percentage / 100. Total = bill + tip. Per-person share = total / number of guests. All values are rounded to 2 decimal places.
Bill 240 PLN, tip 10% = 24 PLN, total 264 PLN. Each of the 4 guests pays 66 PLN (60 PLN bill + 6 PLN tip). With 15%: tip = 36 PLN, total 276 PLN, per person = 69 PLN.
10% is the standard in Poland for satisfactory service. 15% is appropriate for good service, and 20% for exceptional service. Tipping is not legally required.
Tip amount = bill × tip rate / 100. For example, a 240 PLN bill with a 10% tip: 240 × 10 / 100 = 24 PLN tip, 264 PLN total.
It is customary to calculate the tip on the original bill before any vouchers or promotional discounts, as the service provided is unaffected by the discount.
Some restaurants include a service charge (usually 10–15%) automatically — check your bill. If a service charge is listed, an additional tip is not expected.
Many Polish restaurants support adding a tip via the card terminal (POS). Ask the waiter or check the terminal options. If not supported, leave cash on the table.
Use the "number of guests" field. The calculator divides the total (bill + tip) equally. For unequal splits, calculate each person's subtotal separately.
In Poland, tips received by employees are technically income and should be declared, but in practice they are often paid in cash and not always reported. This depends on the restaurant's internal policy and Polish tax law.
Tipping for delivery is increasingly common in Poland — 5–10% or a fixed amount of 5–10 PLN is typical. For takeaway orders you collect yourself, a small tip is appreciated but not expected.
10% remains the standard in Poland in 2026. Due to rising prices, some guests opt for 12–15% as a sign of appreciation. Use the calculator to see the exact amount.
Yes — all results are rounded to 2 decimal places (groszy) using standard mathematical rounding (round half up). The per-person share is calculated from the rounded total.
Results are for informational purposes only. The tip amount is a personal choice and depends on local customs, service quality and budget.
