Car insurance calculator — OC and AC premium estimate 2026
Estimate your car insurance premium (OC/AC) in Poland. Based on driver age, no-claims discount and vehicle value. Indicative only, not an offer.
Find out how much you will pay for MTPL (OC) insurance based on your claims history. Enter the number of years without at-fault claims, the number of accidents in the last 3 years, and your base premium — the calculator returns your estimated discount or surcharge under the bonus-malus system.
Discount for claim-free years: each year adds +5%, up to a maximum of 60% (after 12+ years). Penalty for claims: each at-fault claim reduces the discount by 20%. The net percentage can be negative (surcharge), but no worse than −50%. If the result ≥ 0%: premium = base × (1 − discount/100). If the result < 0%: premium = base × (1 + |surcharge|/100). Saving = base premium − estimated premium (negative = additional cost).
A driver with 8 claim-free years and no accidents: discount = 8 × 5% = 40%. Premium = PLN 1200 × (1 − 0.40) = PLN 720. Annual saving versus the base rate is PLN 480.
Bonus-malus is a system of discounts and surcharges applied to MTPL (OC) premiums based on the driver's claims history. 'Bonus' (discount) is awarded for each claim-free year of driving. 'Malus' (surcharge) is applied after an at-fault accident. The maximum discount in Poland is approximately 60%.
Typically each claim-free year gives a 5% discount, up to a maximum of 60% after approximately 12–15 years. In the first year after getting a driving licence, a driver starts from class M (no discount). The exact rates depend on the insurer.
At the standard rate of +5% per year, the maximum 60% discount is reached after about 12 claim-free years. Some insurers offer faster tracks or higher discounts (up to 70–75%). The calculator shows an estimate for the standard system.
Each claim moves the driver 2–3 classes down the bonus-malus table, meaning a loss of 15–30% discount or the appearance of a surcharge. After an accident, the insurer takes it into account for the next 3 years when calculating the premium. The calculator estimates the impact of claims on the premium.
Yes — UFGIG (the Polish Insurance Guarantee Fund) maintains the Central Insurance Database. Discounts and claims are recorded and transferred automatically when you switch insurer. You cannot hide claims from a new insurer.
As a rule, an at-fault OC claim is taken into account for 3 years in the bonus-malus table. After 3 consecutive claim-free years its negative impact is removed. The exact duration depends on your policy terms.
OC discounts are attached to the driver (policyholder), not to the car. When you buy a new vehicle, you keep your accumulated discounts. When you sell a car, the discounts stay with the original policyholder.
No — only claims resulting in an actual payout from your OC policy affect the bonus-malus table. An incident reported but not leading to a claim settlement does not worsen your class.
Class M (M for 'młody' — young driver) is the starting class for drivers who have just obtained a licence or have never held an OC policy before. It corresponds to a 0% discount — you pay the full base premium. After the first claim-free year you move to class 1 (+5%).
Enter the number of years you have driven without at-fault claims, the number of at-fault claims in the last 3 years, and an indicative base premium. The calculator returns the estimated discount or surcharge percentage and the final premium amount. The result is indicative — the actual premium depends on your insurer.
Estimated result only — this is not an insurer's offer. Actual discounts depend on the insurer and policy terms. The calculator uses a simplified bonus-malus model; actual class tables and thresholds may differ by insurer.
